Tigers Capture Harlan Tourney Title
The ADM Tiger volleyball team continued its remarkable start to the season on Saturday, August 30th, by capturing the championship at the Harlan Volleyball Tournament hosted at Harlan High School. Facing a strong field of competitors, the Tigers showcased consistency, grit, and determination on their way to four victories that kept their record unblemished.
Tigers Handle Glenwood
The first match of the tournament, ADM faced off with Glenwood, where the Tigers once again set the tone early and finished strong. With crisp passing and steady offense, ADM secured the sweep by scores of 21-15 and 21-13.
Dominant Run Against Missouri Valley
ADM had not only one, but two matches against the Missouri Valley Lady Reds. The Tigers came out strong and never looked back, sweeping both contests in straight sets. Scores of 21-16, 21-19, 21-17, and 21-13. The second win against the Lady Reds helped ADM secure the tournament title.
Taking Down the Host School
The Tigers also took on the host Harlan Community. ADM captured a two-set victory, 21-12 and 21-14.
Hard-Fought Battle with St. Albert
ADM's toughest match of the day came against the St. Albert Saintes. After splitting the first two sets (21-11, 21-18), the Tigers dug deep to outlast the Saintes in the deciding set, 15-11, sealing their fourth and final victory of the tournament.
Tigers Improve to 8-0
With the tournament sweep, ADM improves to an impressive 8-0 record on the season. The Tigers will now return home to Adel on Thursday, September 4th, hosting a highly competitive varsity tournament. Opponents include Des Moines Christian, Gilbert, Nevada, Norwalk, and Woodward-Granger, with action beginning at 4:30 p.m.
