Tigers Compete at Gary Christiansen Invite

The ADM Tigers wrestling team demonstrated grit and determination at the Gary Christiansen Invite on Saturday, hosted by Winterset High School. With several Tigers earning podium finishes, the team battled tough competition across a variety of weight classes, showcasing their depth and tenacity.

Notable Performances

165 lbs: Henry Krug

• After a tough opening-round loss to Hunter Smith (Pella) by fall, Krug bounced back with a dominant pin over Jake Carroll (Woodward-Granger) in just 51 seconds.
• Krug went on to place 7th, pinning Baylor Hash (Clarinda) in 1:42 to finish his day on a high note.

190 lbs: Jon Hatchitt

• Hatchitt secured an impressive 3rd-place finish. After a quarterfinal pin over Brecken Ritzert (Pella) in just 57 seconds, Hatchitt faced a setback in the semifinals but rebounded with a hard-fought 9-5 decision over Reichen Lopez (Carlisle).
• In the 3rd-place match, Hatchitt pinned Oscar Potter (Woodward-Granger) in 5:11 to cap off a strong performance.

215 lbs: Karver Sutton

• Sutton battled through the consolation bracket to claim 4th place. He secured a thrilling 9-8 ultimate tiebreaker win over Ethan Miller (Urbandale) in the consolation semifinals.
• Sutton fell in the 3rd-place match to Andy Crowder (Carlisle) by fall but showed resilience throughout the day.

285 lbs: Rhett Boston

• Boston opened with a first-round pin over Chase Cline (Carlisle) in 3:00 but faced tough competition in the subsequent rounds.

132 lbs: Landon Moorhead

• Moorhead placed 7th after a strong showing in the consolation bracket, highlighted by a pin over Nolan Wolf (Osage) in 2:59. He ended his day with another fall, defeating Cooper Thacker (Eagle Grove) in 3:45.

144 lbs: Ethan Johnson

• Johnson claimed 5th place, bouncing back with multiple wins in the consolation bracket, including a technical fall (19-3) over Noah Callies (Carlisle) and a major decision (10-1) over Montrell Jamison (Saydel) in the 5th-place match.

175 lbs: Travis Jacoby

• Jacoby also placed 5th, earning key victories in the consolation rounds, including a 10-3 decision over Jayden Kreitlow (Eagle Grove). He ended his day with a medical forfeit win over Grant Gammel (Waukee).

150 lbs: Kaeden Campbell

• Campbell placed 4th, showcasing dominance with three wins in the consolation bracket, including a major decision (17-5) and a pin in 2:33.

113 lbs: Keller Henning

• Henning placed 7th with an exciting 9-second pin over Cayden Loerzel (Woodward-Granger) in the placement match.
