ADM Wrestling showcased its grit and determination Thursday night at Des Moines East High School, overcoming both Council Bluffs Abraham Lincoln (CBAL) and Des Moines East in a pair of competitive dual meets.


ADM vs. Council Bluffs Abraham Lincoln

ADM edged out CBAL in a tightly contested dual, winning by a narrow margin of 40-36. The Tigers relied on critical falls and bonus-point victories to secure the team victory.

Key Highlights:

  • Grayson Sutter (138 lbs) delivered a strong performance, pinning his opponent in just 2:55.
  • Ethan Johnson (144 lbs) showcased his dominance with a technical fall, defeating Brice Johnson 21-5 in 5:00.
  • Henry Krug (165 lbs) made a quick statement, earning a fall in just 56 seconds.
  • Jon Hatchitt (190 lbs) and Karver Sutton (215 lbs) added back-to-back pins, building momentum for ADM.
  • Rhett Boston (285 lbs) capped off ADM's efforts with a pin in 1:37.

ADM's resilience helped them overcome several tough matches, including a close 6-3 decision loss by Hudson Lewerke (157 lbs) and multiple falls from CBAL wrestlers. Ultimately, ADM's six pins made the difference.


ADM vs. Des Moines East

ADM dominated their second dual of the evening, defeating Des Moines East 47-27. The Tigers secured eight match victories, including six pins, to comfortably outpace the Scarlets.

Key Highlights:

  • Landon Moorhead (132 lbs) got the Tigers started with a fall at 4:45.
  • Ethan Johnson (144 lbs) continued his stellar evening with a technical fall victory, defeating Phengmong Lee 17-2 in 4:00.
  • Kaeden Campbell (150 lbs) and Hudson Lewerke (157 lbs) each contributed falls under 1:15, building ADM's lead.
  • Henry Krug (165 lbs) earned his second fall of the night, pinning Emmanuel Dennis at 5:07.
  • Jon Hatchitt (190 lbs) and Karver Sutton (215 lbs) closed the dual with falls, cementing ADM's victory.

Despite some setbacks, including falls at 285 lbs, 106 lbs, and 113 lbs, ADM's depth and bonus-point wins carried the team to a decisive victory.
