Tigers Advance to Regional Championship

The Adel-DeSoto-Minburn Girls Basketball team took another step toward the state tournament on Saturday night, defeating Winterset 56-26 in the Class 4A Region 5 Second Round at ADM High School.

The Tigers wasted no time setting the tone. ADM stormed out to a 21-5 lead in the first quarter, applying pressure on both ends of the floor and capitalizing on early scoring opportunities. The defensive intensity only ramped up in the second quarter, as the Tigers held the Huskies scoreless to take a commanding 29-5 lead into halftime.

ADM continued to build on its advantage in the third quarter, adding 15 more points to extend the lead to 44-13. The Tigers maintained control throughout the final period, cruising to a 56-26 victory to punch their ticket to the Regional Championship.

Balanced scoring once again powered the Tigers. Three ADM players finished in double figures, led by senior Brecken Morse with 11 points. Junior Alexis Maxwell and sophomore Ella Subbert each added 10 points in the win.

With the victory, ADM improves to 15-7 overall and advances to the Class 4A Regional Championship. The Tigers will travel to Carlisle High School on Tuesday for a 7:00 p.m. matchup with the Carlisle Wildcats. The winner will advance to the Class 4A State Tournament at Casey's Center in Des Moines.
