ADM Girls Basketball Earns Key Conference Road Win at Gilbert
The ADM girls basketball team picked up an important Raccoon River Conference victory on Friday, February 6, defeating Gilbert 37–32 at Gilbert High School.
ADM set the tone early in the girls contest, playing strong defense to blank Gilbert in the opening quarter and jump out to a 7–0 lead. The Tigers continued to control the pace in the second quarter. While Gilbert found some offensive rhythm with seven points, ADM answered with nine of its own to take a 16–7 advantage into halftime.
The third quarter proved to be a pivotal stretch. Both teams matched each other in scoring, but ADM's steady offensive output allowed the Tigers to extend the lead to 28–18 heading into the final period. Gilbert made a late push in the fourth quarter, outscoring ADM 14–9, but the Tigers' early work and defensive effort held strong down the stretch to secure the 37–32 win.
Junior Alexis Maxwell led ADM with 10 points, including a pair of three-pointers, while also contributing defensively. Sophomore Aubrey Noring added 8 points and provided key minutes on both ends of the floor. ADM received balanced contributions throughout the lineup, with strong rebounding and team defense playing a major role in the win.
With the victory, ADM improves to 13–6 overall and 11–3 in Raccoon River Conference play.
