ADM Girls Basketball Tops Van Meter for Fifth Straight Win

The ADM girls basketball team continued its midseason momentum on Saturday night, January 3, with a 64–56 non-conference victory over Van Meter at ADM High School. The win improved the Tigers to 5–4 on the season and marked ADM's fifth consecutive win.

ADM set the tone early, racing out to a 27–11 lead after the first quarter behind aggressive offense and strong defensive pressure. While Van Meter responded with a 22-point fourth quarter, the Tigers' fast start and balanced scoring proved to be the difference.

Ella Subbert led all scorers with 18 points, going 6-for-10 from the free throw line and pulling down a team-high seven offensive rebounds. Ellis Smith added 16 points, knocking down four three-pointers and contributing two assists and two blocked shots. Alexis Maxwell chipped in 11 points, three assists, and two steals, while Aubrey Noring finished with 10 points and four steals.

ADM shot 44 percent from the field and connected on 11 three-pointers in the win. The Tigers also shared the ball effectively, recording 20 assists on 22 made field goals, and forced 19 turnovers on the defensive end.

After building a 15-point halftime lead, ADM matched Van Meter point-for-point in the third quarter before holding off the Bluejays down the stretch. The Tigers' ability to get to the free-throw line and control key possessions late helped seal the victory.

ADM will look to keep its winning streak alive as conference play continues later this week.
