Tiger Defense Stifles Winterset
The Adel-DeSoto-Minburn girls basketball team delivered a dominant performance Friday night at ADM High School, rolling past Winterset 61–23 in conference action as part of a Tigers sweep over the Huskies.
ADM wasted no time making a statement, jumping out to a 20–8 lead after the opening quarter. The Tigers turned up the defensive pressure in the second quarter, allowing just two points while scoring 15 of their own to take a commanding 35–10 halftime advantage.
The Tigers showed no signs of letting up after the break, pouring in 18 points in the third quarter to extend the lead to 53–19 heading into the final frame. ADM closed out the night with an 8–4 fourth quarter to secure the 61–23 victory.
Sophomore Ella Subbert led all scorers with an impressive 25-point performance, attacking the basket and finishing efficiently throughout the night. Senior Ellis Smith added 8 points, while senior Brecken Morse chipped in 7 points for the Tigers. ADM's balanced effort and defensive intensity were key, as Winterset was held to single-digit scoring in three of the four quarters.
With the win, ADM improves to 2–4 on the season and has now won two straight games, while Winterset drops to 2–3.
