Tigers Fall in Regional Final

The Adel-DeSoto-Minburn (ADM) Girls Basketball team saw its season come to an end on Tuesday night after a hard-fought battle in the Class 4A Region 2 Championship game. Taking on the #2 ranked North Polk Comets at North Polk High School, the Tigers displayed resilience but ultimately fell short, losing 54-33.

Both teams exhibited strong defensive efforts in the opening quarter, as early-game nerves limited offensive production. North Polk held a narrow 11-7 lead at the end of the first frame. However, the Comets found their offensive rhythm in the second quarter, scoring 16 points to extend their advantage to 27-14 at halftime.

North Polk continued their momentum early in the third quarter, opening with a 4-0 run to stretch their lead to 17 points. The Tigers responded with determination, mounting a 15-6 run to cut the deficit to eight, trailing just 37-29 heading into the final period. Unfortunately, ADM was unable to sustain their offensive push, as North Polk mirrored their second-quarter performance and outscored the Tigers 17-4 in the fourth to secure the victory.

ADM was led in scoring by senior Kelli Storck led the Tigers with 11 points, followed by fellow senior Aniston Tollari with six points, and sophomore Alexis Maxwell adding five.

ADM concludes its season with a 15-10 record, an impressive turnaround that saw the team improve by eight wins from the previous year in Head Coach Danielle Craig's debut season.
