The ADM Tigers girls basketball team returned to action Saturday night after icy weather delayed their matchup with Winterset by a day. The Tigers battled through a competitive contest, using a strong first half to hold off the Huskies and secure a 33-29 victory. ADM improved to 4-3 on the season, while Winterset fell to 2-3.

First Half Dominance Sets the Tone

The opening quarter saw ADM and Winterset trading baskets in a back-and-forth battle. The Tigers managed to carve out a 10-7 lead after the first, fueled by efficient shooting and steady ball movement.

ADM turned up the defensive pressure in the second quarter, limiting Winterset to just two points while outscoring the Huskies 10-2. Freshman Ella Subbert and senior Kelli Storck led the charge offensively, and the Tigers entered halftime with a commanding 20-9 lead.

Winterset Rallies in the Third

The Huskies came out of the locker room with energy, scoring 13 points in the third quarter to climb back into the game. ADM struggled to find its rhythm offensively, managing just six points in the period. By the end of the third, Winterset had closed the gap to 26-22, setting up a tense fourth quarter.

Winterset continued to push in the fourth quarter, narrowing ADM's lead to just three points. However, the Tigers stood their ground defensively and made key plays down the stretch to secure the 33-29 victory.
