Hagedorn's Pitching Leads ADM Past Bluejays

The ADM Softball team celebrated Youth Appreciation Night in style, securing their sixth win of the season with a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Bondurant-Farrar. The win was powered by a standout pitching performance from Lauren Hagedorn, who dominated the game from the mound.

Game Highlights

Monday night's contest saw both teams locked in a pitching duel, but it was the Tigers who found the crucial edge in the second inning. After a scoreless first inning, ADM's offense sparked to life. Ellis Smith started the rally with a single, followed by another single from Olivia Wyant, putting runners on first and second. Junior Aniston Tollari then delivered the game's pivotal moment, smashing a two-run RBI double that brought Smith and Wyant home, giving ADM a 2-0 lead.

The Bluejays responded in the third inning. Junior Peyton West was hit by a pitch and later scored after an error from Wyant, who overthrew the ball to first baseman Kaylee Smith, allowing West to cross home plate. This narrowed the gap to 2-1, but strong pitching from both teams kept the score unchanged for the remainder of the game.

Lauren Hagedorn delivered the performance of the night for ADM. She pitched a complete game, allowing just one hit and one run while striking out an impressive 10 batters. Her control and precision on the mound were instrumental in stifling the Bluejays' offense and securing the victory for the Tigers.

With this victory, ADM improves to 6-4 overall and 4-1 in the Raccoon River Conference (RRC). ADM will travel to Winterset on Wednesday for another conference showdown against the Huskies.
