State Champs! ADM Boys Golf Team Clinches Class 3A State Title
The ADM Boys Golf team capped off an extraordinary season with a championship victory at the Class 3A State Golf meet held on Monday and Tuesday at the Veenker Golf Course in Ames. Due to weather the tournament was cut to one day. The Tigers delivered a stellar performance, shooting a combined 304 strokes, narrowly edging out runner-up Waverly-Shell Rock, who finished with 307 strokes.
Senior Easton Korell was medalist for the meet, dominating the course with a remarkable 6-under-par round of 66, securing the 3A individual title. Korell's exceptional play set the tone for the Tigers and provided a crucial edge in the tight competition.
Junior Carter Madison also contributed significantly to the team's success, tying for 13th place with a solid 6-over score of 78. Junior Grant Jansen and Senior Finn Garton both showcased their skills and consistency, ending up in a three-way tie for 20th place alongside North Polk's Jacob Eagan, each shooting an 80. Rounding out the team's effort, Senior Grant Hickey scored an 81, and Senior Lincoln Banwart completed the course with an 84.
This championship marks the first boys state title in ADM's history. The ADM Boys Golf team concludes their impressive 2024 season with an outstanding overall record of 39-3.
