ADM Bowling Finishes as Class 2A State Runner-Up

The Adel-DeSoto-Minburn Boys Bowling Team capped off a historic season Tuesday with a second-place finish at the Iowa High School Athletic Association Class 2A Team State Bowling Tournament at Cadillac Lanes in Waterloo.

Competing in just their second year as a standalone program, the Tigers made the most of their first-ever appearance in the team portion of the state tournament, bringing home the state runner-up trophy.

After finishing in second place after 15 baker games (top four teams advance to bracket play), ADM opened bracket play with an impressive first-round performance against Waterloo East. The Tigers swept the three-game series in dominant fashion, posting scores of 225, 202, and 199 to advance to the championship match.

In the finals, ADM faced the top-seeded Denison-Schleswig Monarchs. The Tigers battled throughout the series, turning in scores of 163, 171, and 173. Despite their efforts, Denison-Schleswig claimed all three games to secure the state title.

Denison-Schleswig finished as the Class 2A Team State Champion, followed by ADM in second place. The remainder of the team standings included Central DeWitt, Waterloo East, Western Dubuque, North Scott, Decorah, and Lewis Central.

Congratulations to the ADM Boys Bowling Team on an outstanding season and a memorable state tournament run!
