Tigers Roll Past Clarke in Substate Opener
The ADM Boys Basketball team opened Class 3A Substate 6 play in dominant fashion Monday night, cruising past Clarke Community 97-26 at ADM High School.
The Tigers set the tone early and never looked back, racing out to a 27-7 lead after the first quarter. ADM continued to apply pressure in the second, outscoring the Indians 24-6 to take a commanding 51-13 advantage into halftime.
ADM powered through the second half with the same intensity, pouring in 46 more points while holding Clarke to just 13 over the final two quarters to secure the 97-26 victory.
Balanced Attack Fuels Tigers
In a true team effort, all 17 ADM players found the scoring column. Senior Hudson Lorensen led the way with 17 points, knocking down 7-of-10 shots from the field, including three three-pointers. Junior Eli Wiebers added 13 points, connecting on two shots from beyond the arc and finishing 5-of-7 from the floor. Sophomore Tate Troster contributed 11 points, including three three-pointers, while adding five rebounds and three assists.
Hayden Dohlman chipped in 10 points on 5-of-7 shooting, and Trey Bryte added eight points to go along with a team-high seven rebounds and six assists. Latimer Timmerman scored seven points, while Carson Oberhoffer and Reece Strittmatter each finished with six. ADM finished the night shooting an efficient 41-of-69 from the field, including 11 three-pointers, and dished out 25 assists as a team.
Defensively, the Tigers were just as impressive, holding Clarke to single-digit scoring in every quarter. ADM forced turnovers and controlled the glass, finishing with 37 defensive rebounds and 12 steals.
With the win, ADM improves to 20-2 overall and advances to the second round of substate play. The Tigers will host Benton on Thursday night in Adel. Benton advanced with a 62-59 victory over Clear Creek Amana.
