ADM Pulls Away From Huskies
The ADM boys basketball team built an early lead and finished strong to earn a 62–45 road victory over Winterset on Thursday night at Winterset High School.
The Tigers came out firing, racing to a 19–6 advantage after the opening quarter. ADM's defense kept Winterset off the scoreboard for much of the second quarter, and although the Huskies found some offense midway through the period, the Tigers still carried a comfortable 29–18 lead into halftime.
Winterset made a push coming out of the break, scoring 20 points in the third quarter to trim the deficit to nine, 47–38, heading into the final frame. ADM responded with its best stretch of the night in the fourth quarter, outscoring the Huskies 15–7 to pull away and secure the 62–45 win.
ADM placed three players in double figures, led by senior Trey Bryte with a game-high 19 points. Fellow senior Hudson Lorensen followed with 17 points, while sophomore Walker Holmberg added 12 points to round out the balanced scoring effort.
With the win, the Tigers improve to 12–2 overall and 9–2 in Raccoon River Conference play. Winterset drops to 8–7 on the season and 4–7 in the RRC. The Huskies will host North Polk on Tuesday, while ADM returns home to welcome Bondurant-Farrar to Adel on Tuesday.
