Tigers Advance to Substate Final
The Adel-DeSoto-Minburn (ADM) Boys Basketball team continues its postsason run after a commanding victory over Grinnell on Thursday night at ADM High School. In the battle of the Tigers, ADM emerged victorious with a dominant 70-43 win in the Class 3A Region 7 district final.
The game started as a tightly contested battle, with ADM holding a slight 17-11 lead after the first quarter. However, ADM's offense found its rhythm in the second quarter, erupting for 20 points to take a comfortable 37-23 advantage into halftime.
The momentum carried over into the third quarter as ADM's defense stifled Grinnell, allowing just five points while the offense continued to fire on all cylinders with 19 points. By the end of the third quarter, ADM had extended its lead to 56-28. While Grinnell outscored ADM 15-14 in the final quarter, the outcome was never in doubt as ADM secured the 70-43 victory.
ADM showcased a well-balanced offensive attack, led by juniors Hudson Lorensen and Trey Bryte, who each scored 16 points. Senior Wyatt Schweiger contributed 13 points, while junior Hudson Shull added 12.
With the victory, ADM improves to 20-4 on the season and advances to the substate final, where they will take on Pella on Monday night at ADM High School.
