The ADM Tigers battled to a hard-fought 57-49 victory over their conference rival Winterset on Friday night, using a strong second-quarter surge and solid team defense to come out on top. With this win, ADM showcased their resilience and determination in front of an energized home crowd.
Strong Second Quarter Sets the Tone
Winterset and ADM started off in a close battle, with the Tigers holding a slim 11-9 lead at the end of the first quarter. However, ADM took control in the second period, outscoring the Huskies 19-11 to build a 30-20 halftime lead.
Despite a push from Winterset in the third quarter, where they trimmed ADM's lead to 42-33, the Tigers remained composed and closed out the game with a steady fourth-quarter performance to secure the eight-point win.
Lorensen and Bryte Lead the Charge
ADM's offense was spearheaded by Hudson Lorensen, who delivered a dominant performance with 22 points on 8-of-16 shooting while also contributing a steal and three turnovers. His efficiency from the free-throw line (6-of-6) played a crucial role in maintaining ADM's advantage.
Trey Bryte also had a stellar outing, scoring 16 points while knocking down five free throws and grabbing a team-high 10 rebounds. Bryte's defensive presence was felt as he tallied two blocks and two steals to go along with five assists.
