Tigers Blank Bluejays 48-0 in Homecoming Win
The Adel-DeSoto-Minburn football team delivered a statement performance on Homecoming night, shutting out Bondurant-Farrar 48-0 on Friday, September 19, at Tiger Stadium. The victory marked ADM's first shutout of the season and was powered by a relentless offense and suffocating defense.
Before kickoff, ADM honored the 1975 Adel-Desoto team — the program's first-ever undefeated regular season squad. Members of that historic team were recognized during pregame and halftime, with ADM Hall of Fame coach Gary Nelson serving as the honorary captain.
First-Half Domination
The Tigers wasted no time rebounding from last week's heartbreaking 38-37 overtime loss to North Polk. ADM scored touchdowns on each of its first six possessions, building a commanding 41-0 halftime lead.
Senior running back Reed Obstarczyk paced the ground game with two rushing touchdowns, while senior quarterback Hudson Shull added two rushing scores of his own, including a 77-yard sprint to the end zone. Shull was equally effective through the air, connecting on touchdown passes to senior Ethan Uglum (39 yards) and junior Reid Kluesner (36 yards).
Meanwhile, the Tiger defense stifled Bondurant-Farrar at every turn. The Bluejays punted six times in the first half, and their only other possession ended in a fumble on their own 32-yard line.
Second-Half Cruise
With the running clock in effect and starters resting, ADM added one more touchdown in the second half. Junior Alex Jensen capped the scoring with a 23-yard run, finishing the night with 85 rushing yards and a score.
The Tigers' defense forced the Bluejays to punt 10 times in total and limited them to minimal offensive production, preserving the shutout.
