Tigers Ground the Bombers
The Adel-DeSoto-Minburn football team opened its 2025 home slate in convincing fashion on Friday night, rolling to a 41-3 victory over Ballard in front of a packed crowd at ADM Stadium. Despite committing three turnovers in the first quarter, the Tigers settled in and overwhelmed the Bombers on both sides of the ball to move to 2-0 on the season.
A Sloppy Start, Then a Statement
The first quarter featured four combined turnovers as both teams struggled to find their footing. ADM moved the ball in the first drive but fumbled. Ballard immediately gave the ball back, and quarterback Hudson Shull capitalized with a 25-yard touchdown scramble to put the Tigers on the board.
After another ADM fumble, the Tigers' defense delivered with a stop on downs, setting up a 6-yard touchdown run by junior Alex Jensen for a 14-0 lead. Shull's interception on the next possession gave the Bombers a chance to respond, but Ballard managed only a 32-yard field goal from Sam Hoffman, their lone points of the night.
Explosive Plays Before Halftime
ADM's offense quickly shook off its mistakes and took control before halftime. Shull connected on a 44-yard strike to senior Leyton Gerleman, then followed with a 22-yard touchdown toss to senior Ethan Uglum. Those big plays stretched the lead to 27-3 at the break, firmly putting momentum on ADM's side.
Tigers Close the Door
The second half was all ADM as the defense held Ballard scoreless and forced four turnovers in total. Shull added a 13-yard touchdown pass to Uglum, who finished with five catches for 76 yards and two scores. Jensen sealed the win with his second rushing touchdown of the night, a 5-yard run to push the score to the final margin of 41-3.
