ADM Boys & Girls Track and Field Send Strong Contingent to Drake Relays

The ADM Tigers boys and girls track and field teams will be well represented at the 2026 Drake Relays, one of the premier high school track meets in the country, held Thursday, April 23 through Saturday, April 25 at Drake Stadium in Des Moines.

Boys Qualifiers Ready for Big Stage

ADM's boys squad has qualified athletes across multiple individual and relay events, showcasing both speed and versatility.

The action begins Thursday evening with Reid Kluesner competing in the high jump at 4:30 p.m., giving ADM an early presence in the field events.

On Friday, the Tigers hit the track running. Zane Johnson will compete in the 100-meter dash prelims at 9:13 a.m.

ADM's distance crew takes center stage later that morning in the 1600-meter medley relay at 10:04 a.m. The team of Johnson, Pitzen, Paul, Hook, Shull, Davison, Leistikow and Landphair will represent the Tigers.

Relay strength continues in the 4x200-meter relay at 1:00 p.m., featuring Johnson, Gerleman, Hook, and Rychnovsky, alongside Shull, Paul, Davison, and Pitzen.

The Tigers return Friday night for the 4x400-meter relay at 9:06 p.m., with Hook, Davison, Kluesner, Landphair, Johnson, Shull, Paul, and Coleman competing.

Championship Saturday will feature ADM in the 4x100-meter relay at 10:12 a.m., with Taborga, Gerleman, Davison, and Johnson leading the lineup, along with Hook, Pitzen, Rychnovsky, and Paul.


Girls Team Brings Depth Across Events

The ADM girls team will also have a strong presence, with athletes competing in hurdles, relays, and field events throughout the weekend.

In the field events, Lauren Hagedorn will represent ADM in the discus.

ADM's hurdle crew will be busy, led by Elise Coglan and Haley Nelson, both competing in the 100-meter hurdles on Friday, with Coglan also running the 400-meter hurdles on Saturday. The Tigers will also field multiple entries in the shuttle hurdle relay, including Addy Bjork, Coglan, Nelson, Bella Smyth, and alternates Karsyn Stanford, Clara Uthe, and Elliotte Von Roden.

Relay events will be a major strength for the Tigers:

  • The 4x200-meter relay (Friday) includes Brecken Morse, Vivian Novelli, Claire Priestley, with support from Izzy Book and Peyton Standley (alternate) and Haley Nelson (alternate).

  • The 4x400-meter relay will compete in Friday's prelims with Coglan, Brecken Morse, Novelli, and Priestley, while Izzy Book and Livia Morse serve as alternates. Finals on Saturday could feature the same core group.

  • In the 4x100-meter relay (Saturday), ADM will be represented by Brecken Morse, Haley Nelson, and Peyton Standley, with Izzy Book, Vivian Novelli, Claire Priestley, and Kate Darling listed as alternates.

Additional contributions include Izzy Book and Livia Morse providing depth as relay alternates across multiple events.
